What to do with hens no longer laying

I have a group of chickens who are no longer laying but that I am feeding. I need to make space for new laying hens. What can I do with the birds? Thanks for your help

I normally just like to keep my old hens but I think the only thing you could do is cull them.

Mine made great stocks and stews.
If I'm feeding the hens, and they are not feeding me with eggs, they will feed me with stews and stocks.
It's the cycle of life and sustenance.

It's decision time then. Wonderful soup stock, lifetime home for a favorite pet(s), or off to someone else for their dinner. I've done all three options, depending on available space and those special birds. It's also part of the 'chicken math' story. Birds that stop laying eggs because of illness need to be managed humanely. Mary
