What to do with my broody Silky

You may have to move her into the carrier when it is dark, so she doesn't scream at you and go right back to the other spot. She should stay if there is nesting material in it. Once you give her the eggs, let her do what she was born to do and you will have baby chicks. Good luck! Can't wait for pics

I've got a broody silkie too and I am amazed at how she has sat on a golf ball in that nesting box for 18 days now.
One of my leghorns is climbing in with her to lay an egg every day and she still doesn't move. What is really funny is when we take the leghorn egg from her we have to push her to the side and sometimes she just rolls out of the box. She is a sweet heart so all she does is a little growl no pecking or anything.
On Tuesday my chicks are supposed to be here, so that night I will be fostering them with her.

Hopefully it works!

Good luck with your little broody

I think my eggs will come Monday. Hubby is getting ready to section off her little corner for her now. That way the other hens won't be able to bother her, and I will give her food and water in her little corner. She will have room to get up and walk a little if she wants. I was getting so excited that I had a hard time sleeping last night, worrying and wondering how I could do this to make it all work out.
