How many hens do you have? At least ten would be needed to spread the "fun" around, LOL. My 6 month old roo started jumping the pullets when they were four months (he was an accidental roo that came in the pullet order). There was a good bit of screaming, flapping madly and running from him at first, but things have settled down now. And he does do his little stomp and shuffle dance while cooing enticingly to them. It's kind of cute to watch. He has 19 pullets to mate with, and that seems to be enough to keep him busy.
The ten older hens, ages one to three years, never had a rooster around before, and will have nothing to do with him. He seems to know better than to push his luck. Someday it may happen, but these old ladies are adamant now that he mind his business, and he seems to have enough sense to do it.
