I have a beautiful 9 week old polish who a couple days ago showed up prolapsed. Not extreme, but definatly things that are supposed to be in the inside were sticking out. She/he is a beautiful bird, but we don't know what to do with it. The last couple days we've kept it seperated and we push in the prolapse use prep. H, but it still keeps coming out. Sometimes is stays 1/2 hour sometimes most the day.

This is what we are thinking of choices.

1. Keep doing what we are doing. (we don't really want to do this...we are also caring for our other 28 chicks)

2. Put her in the coop and see if time will just take care of it. (we know this is risky.)

3. Give it to another chicken owner and let them handle it. (of course we would explain the situation)

4. (any other good ideas you may have...)

1. Apply preparation H and push the prolapse back in.

2. Separate this bird until the prolapse doesn't come out again. You may wish to put another bird in with her.

3. She may be high risk for a prolapse when it comes time to lay an egg. You'll need to keep a close eye on her.
