What to do with roosters?? more

This may already have been answered somewhere, so forgive me, but.........

My family wants to have a dozen or so chickens so we can have fresh eggs. I have a friend who wants to get eggs to hatch so her kids can watch the process and she'd give us the chicks after they hatch. We told her which kind of chickens we want, but now we're thinking what if the majority of eggs are roosters? Any ideas what do to with roosters?

I give mine away on craigs list, much better response in the spring when people are activly looking for more chickens. I have found it really hard to give roos away in the winter. so I would just try and give boys away asap this spring.

There's always the soup pot

The soup pot was my husband's first thought, but that would have to be all him! I'm not going near that one!

flea markets and swaps are good places to unload them and you don't have to worry about the phone calls

Mine usually go to family or friends but if that wasnt the case, and has been a couple of rare times, I give them away on craigslist too.
