What to do with Roosters?

eat them... no chicken taste better than the ones you raise yourself.

I goofed and ordered straight run [because they were less expensive] and got a mess of roos! I loved raising them, but now.........they are always chasing and fighting and constantly chasing down my poor little hens who go running for their lives!
I love them bc they are so pretty but have to do something different here! They are different kinds of Cochin Bantams, I asked a friend of mine if her and her son would like to have them, she said yes! They both live on nice big farms! Yay! I am happy but I will be sad when I load them up! I am happy too that her son has no dogs and she has an old doggie and assured me she wouldn't harm them which makes it better for me and the roos too!

It is always extremely difficult to let go of something that I have raised, got these from the hatchery so you know how that is!! Thanks for listening! Good luck finding a new home for your roosters!

silkies, hard to imagine eating silkies. They are so cute. I just took in a silkie bantam roo that my mom was trying to give away at the TSC chicken swap. I have all standard chickens so not much damage he can do here. And "big red" ain't going to share his ladies. But he sure is cute.

I was willing to take home some big roos to slaughter for raw feeding my dogs but the lady trying to give them away wanted to find them a "good home" because they were so sweet. Sooooo, I couldn't in good conscience take them and kill them with her thinking they were heading off into the sunset to live happily ever after.
