What to do with vertical space in coop? Silkie specific!

That set up looks really good! I had what I called my condo coop. I built one half the size of the one under it and
I stopped useing it bc it seemed like the pen underneath it was always getting the dust and yuck thrown down on
them and the water was always sooo dirty! Other than that I really like the idea of going up.
I guess if I has made the sides taller with boards instead of chicken wire it might have worked better.

Thanks for the advice! Hubby is going to make it for me so I will have him make ot higher around the bottoms so that it will be harder to kick out the shavings and dust.

I tried to start a silkie coop thread a long time ago but no one ever posted. It is hard to try to figure out how to best utilize space when they don't fly and hate ramps! LOL! I would love to see other people's silkie set ups. I know most people keep them in horse stalls but I don't have a big barn and need to be inventive!

I just got my first five silkies and I also am interested in how people have their silkie spaces set up. I am in Florida and have an open air pen set up. Wondering how I need to deal with the silkies. Separate area? Incorporated with the other six? Would love to see more silkie friendly set ups!

YAY we finally got the breeder runs done! They will mainly be used for extra roos, a pair, or as a brooder. It is very similar to the link I posted. I will take pics soon to post!
