So, my black silkie juvenile got a case of wry neck recently from a head injury. It recovered after about a week or so, but it still moves really slowly and isn't the brightest thing. We've been letting it outside all day, and then bringing it inside at night. The problem is, we have had to separate it and two Seramas alone while she is outside, because all of the other birds (aside from the two Seramas, who are also constantly picked on) assault it as soon as they see it, and it is too slow to escape them.

Will it ever be able to integrate into the coop? I don't really want a house chicken :/

Thanks!

Some birds are fragile, and do best in their own flock. Seramas and Silkies fit into this category, even if not injured. Some birds are more aggressive than others too, like production reds and New Hamps. Plenty of space per bird will help, but separate housing would be best. Mary
