What to expect....

I have 3 six week old ducks and 1 seven week old duck. I'm pretty sure one is a male--Daffy does not quack at all but merely "whispers". Anyway, just wondering if the ducks will begin laying at a normal age even though it could be late fall when they come of age to do so...or am I to expect eggs next spring? Thanks for the help!!

What breed? Muscovy won’t lay till following spring after hatch other breeds can a will begin to lay first season 4-5 months and can lay all through winter my Runners and Buffs did

My Runners and Buffs hatched in late April of 2016 and began layings Sept of 2016 and laid straight for about 18 months befor they took a break much needed break

Yeh..Runners are layers also Buff....

There in lies a complication--the drake was a khaki campbell and the ducks were either Rouen, Blue Swedish or Welsh Harlequin. I have two that show the Blue Swedish coloring right now and two that are darker...pretty sure one is a drake as he only whispers!

My WH hatched in early August and Cayuga hatched in September, each began laying the following spring.

Khakis will begin to lay as soon as old enough mixed ones I don't know.
