What to feed a flock if they are not all laying

I'm about to run out of feed and need to buy SOMETHING. I only have 4 pullets, one that is 17 weeks and the others are 12 weeks old. I've read that layer feed should not be given until they actually start laying. So I guess my question is, with this size flock, and being limited to 25 pound bags of feed, what would you get? Can a laying hen do alright for the first month or two on grow mash? Thanks in advance. I'm getting quite the education this year!

An "all -flock" or "flock raiser" can be a great feed for a mixed flock (ages, genders, species) - simply offer free choice oyster shell for any birds of laying age to consume at will and your calcium needs are covered w/out having the issue of having excess calcium in the feed as you would have by offering a layer ration.
