What to feed hen and chick

I just had a hen hatch a chick and was wondering what the chick and hen are supposed to eat. The hen is eating grower at the moment, but what will she have to start eating when the chick starts eating?

Usually you feed chicks Chick Starter feed, it is higher in protein then Grower feed and they both can eat Starter that is fine since your hen would not be laying at the moment.

You could give them scrambled egg

Thanks, I’ve had chickens for almost 5 years and never had a hen hatch eggs for me. It’s pretty amazing!!

They’re my own eggs. Her other chick hatched. Wish she would have beeen broody during the summer though.

indeed! But now she's gone once, she'll probably go again next year, and she may trigger others into it too. And she and her chicks will have an easier time of it as her experience grows
