We have just acquired last week 3 Muscovies. 2 ducks and one Drake. They are said to be 7 months old, but aren’t laying yet, and they husband of the woman we got them from said they were at most 5 months old
. Anyways, they were being fed a layer pellet. I have chickens and don’t even feed a layer feed to my hens as we have roosters and they don’t need the calcium (we offer oyster shell free choice separately). I can’t get the ducks to eat the 18% crumble I feed my hens. I’ve been mixing a layer pellet and the crumble half and half in hopes of switching them to the crumble exclusively, but they only want the pellets. I’ve searched high and low near me at all the feed stores for a pelleted feed that doesn’t have so much calcium and can’t find anything, it’s only available in a crumble. What are my fellow Muscovy aficionados feeding?
