What to feed my roo

i have 5 chicks 2 of whom are Roos. None of the pullets have layed yet. Can I just keep giving them starter and when they start laying giving them oyster shells. Or will the roo eat the oyster shells and make himself sick.

OYSTER SHELLS WILL NOT MAKE YOUR ROOSTER SICK. Provide them in a container free choice.. The chickens and roosters will take as much of the oyster shell as they themselves need. It is also a source of grit for both.. WIN WIN.
You can keep giving them starter and gradually switch to all flock, ( just a suggestion ) and provide the oyster shells now.. You can keep giving them STARTER FEED for their whole life as long as you supplement their calcium needs with oyster shells. Read some threads on the topic of feed and you will become pleasantly informed.
