What to feed them?

I am getting baby chicks in two days!

I thought that all I needed to get them was the chick starter feed. But a friend of mine brought up that they might need something else, and I should look into it before I get them. Is there anything else that I may need to fee them?

Chicks need Starter. There are all kinds of other things you can get for them. Some hatcheries even sell some of these. But chicks need Starter.

Yes chicks need starter crumbles. That is the only food they need for the first few weeks - ours is good for chickens up to 10 weeks old (It will say it on the bag).

If you are going to want to feed them snacks (and you will!!), you will need to get Chick grit so they will be able to digest it, or they may get very sick and possibly die.

You may want to purchase a bottle of electrolyte/vitamin mix to add to the water to boost their health and growth, but it isn't necessary.
