I have lost six chicks of twelve within two weeks. There was some diarrhea and watery poop from some ever since I brought them home. I put some electrolytes in the water to help. I opted for non-medicated chick starter. The pattern is that they begin to stop activity (eating/drinking/pecking) and eventually lay down really lethargic. This lasts a few hours then they die. I started Corid three days ago but I'm not completely sure it is coccidiosis. But what else could it be? It is so discouraging to watch them die one at a time every day or so. Any ideas? Should I start with medicated feed next time?

Are you using a regular Red bulb heat lamp?

It doesn't look to me that the chicks are able to get away from the heat.
90° would be too hot for chicks in my house so I would suggest raising the bulb away and moving it to where it only covers half or less of this area.

It is the red bulb. I raised the lamp and cooled things down. Thank you.
