Okay, now that my second hatch ever is officially in lockdown (Dorkings, Australorps, Buff and Light Brahmas plus a few surprises thrown in), and I'm sort of high from the thrill of the hatch days finally arriving (tomorrow through the 8th), I am obsessing about the next breed I should hatch!

Any ideas? Any "dream breeds" y'all would like to recommend?

Thanks!

I really like Buff Orphingtons and Silver Laced Wyandottes. They make good layers and the Buff's make really good mothers! (got a broody Buff Orphington setting as we speak!) Good luck with whatever you decide to hatch!

my next hatch is the "just-for-the-fun-of-it" hatch. I'll set 4/23, hatch mid may

golden cuckoo marans
wheaton marans
buff brahma standard
whaton pendesenca
partridge chantecler
exchequers leghorns
cream brabanter
barnevelder (just hatched one-but want more)
salmon favorelles
white and black orpingtons!
AND
mille fleur leghorns if I can find some

AWWWW, I do love those, too. I love Wyandottes! They are so curvy and round and elegant, like a teapot!

I do like the idea of the fat Broody Buff Orp with chickies crawling all over her.....

What breeds are considered "easy" to hatch vs. "hard" to hatch?

I actually now have 3 incubators, but have 45 eggs in lockdown. What does one do with so many chickies?

And how does one justify hatching more? Luckily, I have 18 acres I could simply cover with chicken tractors....

Okay, okay, I'm drooling! Salmon Faverolles are a fantasy breed for me, but I would want eggs from a good line. I never heard of a Mille Fleur Leghorn! Sounds gorgeous! I love Mille Fleur anything, practically..... What is Exchequer? Where do you get your eggs? what a great mix!

Anyone out there have White Langshans? They are gorgeous....

I like those showgirls, but I really want some of those polish bantam frizzles!

They are just too much $$ for this homeschooling mom! I'm on my 1st lock down right now! I have an order out for some blue bantam cochins and some sizzles!

God bless all!!!!!!

PM me with what breeds you are looking for and I'll tell you the breeders where I'm getting them from
