I have noticed that there are many repeat, double repeat, VERY off topic threads here In GJF. I thought, since this can get annoying, of a list, of what do and what not to do:

~ Before you post a topic, look through the last 2/3 pages and make sure there isn't an exact same kind of thread you were about to post. For example, if I wanted to post another "DragCave Thread" and I don't see it on the first page, I should check the second. If you don't and another exact turns up on the top of the 2nd page, people have to take the time to report your thread, and the staff has to Read the report, check out your thread, and go through all that unneeded work, just to lock it and spam the forum.

~ Make your thread appealing! Nice threads give a better overview of BYC and a better thread!

~ Try to post some explanation to your thread, and some rules. For instance, if you had "The Hoola-Bagoola Game" that game isn't to self explanatory. Try to post "Hi, welcome, to the Hoola-Bagoola Game! The point is to create the most random and funniest word!"

~No inappropriate pictures/words, Profantity, Mock fighting, or anything not needed.

~Try not to post 5 different threads on, say, food. You don't need "Fav. Ice Cream" "Fav fried Snails" "Fav. Frog legs" "Fav. Poultry" and "fav. Roast beef" threads. How about, "The favorite food thread!" Eh? Eh?

~ Be mindful of the audience. Whether it's a random kid

an old coot

coffee addict
caf.gif
or a five year old

ANYONE may be lurking your thread.... even mods......

~ Stay on topic to your section. Don't post "Eggs for Sale" in BYC feedback or "The coffee Game" in emerginces. Be mindful of this one!

~Post on the threads you think is a double, and say somethin' along these lines: "Um.... I think there is already a Booger Bear Fan chat, Boogerbearfan10001."

~As I said before, Rules! Example:
1.All BYC rules!
2. ONLY GFM's can post.
3. No spamming.
4. Follow these rules!
5. HAVE FUN!

Thanks for looking!

Isn't it up to the mods to tell us what is causing them/the forum problems?

Seems to be what they do. But I don't think there's a rule against it. Though I'm sure that what Michael is saying has already been said multiple times by mods and admins.

Agreed. There's really no hurt in refreshing your knowledge once in a while about the BYC basic rules of posting, guys.
