What to put in run floor?

Hi, fairly new to chicken keeping. Currently the run has play bark on the flooring. How often should I replace it? They spend most days there but I do let them out into the garden on my days off

Never. The bark on the run floor will degrade over time. You’ll add on top, but should not need to replace. You may want to stir it up now and again.

Now, stuff in the coop will need to be cleaned out, but that depends on a few factors, like flooring, presence or not if poop boards, space and number of birds.

That’s good to know, they’ve been merrily digging around in it so doing a good job of mixing it up!
