What is a good covering for a solid floor coop? I am worried of using anything vinyl due to the chemicals they give off ( and are made with) and may be slippery? What is the safest option?

Mine is painted, and I put the wood chips on top of it. Seems to work out fine. I do use a little vinyl flooring on the poop boards (just makes it super easy to clean.)

Mine is just bare wood, and I keep a layer of wood shavings on it at all times......I go into the coop each night with a kitty litter scoop and a bucket and scoop out all the poo. Keeps it nice and fresh.

My coop flooring is raw wood planks over bare dirt. I also do the deep litter method.

What type of under floor do you have? Plywood?

It isn't built yet but it will be plywood.

My floor is just plain plywood, no vinyl and not painted, but with several inches of pine shavings over it. I only have four birds though and I scoop the big wet stuff out daily so the floor is in really good shape thus far.

I think I just might keep it wood. We are only going to get about 4 birds so i think it should work. I might put something I can take out under the coops.
Thanks!
