I stuck down those square linoleum tiles and then cover with pine shavings. everything just sweeps right up.
I read on here once that some one used an old shower curtain under their roosts, she didn't have to sweep or rake just gathered the corners and dumped it in the compost pile - I thought that was rather inventive.

Pretty much what it sounds like. A deep pan is hung or affixed directly beneath the roosts, to catch the droppings. A screen is placed on top to keep the birds out of the water.
When they poop, the droppings go into the water and collect there. This binds the nitrogen and dilutes it, as opposed to it forming ammonia nitrate as it dries in the air.
Affix a valve to the pan so you can drain the water and manure into a bucket, for instant 'manure tea'. This goes into the garden or compost heap. Wash out the pan, refill it and do it again...
4 x 8 sheet of white board at Lowe's for $10, cut to size for the poop boards. Between it and the roosts is chicken wire to catch any eggs that accidentally pop out at night (yep, it happens but rarely now). So I clean the poop board every day or every other day, scrape any debris off the roosts (2x4's) and sprinkle a little DE on the roosts. Total time is less than 5 minutes per session.
