I know!!! But since nobody but me goes near the chickens they might not notice a new hen walking around? But ya only 6 chickens and we live on a 300 acre farm! Think of how many chickens i could free range on it! But they seriously think i have an obsession and they actually made an appointment for me to go to a therapists a month ago!! btw i am totally sane i am just going through a chicken phase like little kid go through a sticker phase (except i hope it never ends!) But do you know what i did? I cancelled the appointment and went out and bought 2 Marans chicks!

Hey you could be having a horse phase or cow phase...both much more expensive and longer lived in animal years. I say they should be glad it's chickens.

My "horse phase" has lasted 47 years and counting . . . but it only got expensive during the last few years, when I finally acquired some. For some of us, it's an obsession that never ends. Minis need much less space and feed that the "bigs", but they need the same vet and farrier care, so they still aren't cheap to keep. All horses need a certain amount of daily handling and care, or they will develop health/behavior problems.

Animals are the best therapists!

They always listen

They'll even do your hair!

Give you hugs

And sometimes talk back
