Hello,

I am new to keeping chickens and now have 3 Lemon Sablepoots, (2 Hen's and 1 Cockrell).

They are in a nice new extended run with a coop.

The issue I have is I need to waterproof the coop and after lots of searching have not found a product I like.

Could any one recommend a clear waterproof sealer suitable for treated wood, that is not a vanish and safe to use around chickens.

Pictures attached incase interested..

Thanks

Michael

Use a water born toner. Comes in many tints with the clear being called natural. They'll bring out the grains of the wood and can be used on non aged pressure treated wood.

There is a plethora of makers of toners and 95% of them are water born anymore. Least expensive being Flood type products and most being Cabot's Australian Timber Oil (no longer oil). Cabot has a good quality toner stain not under the Timber Oil name for a fair price.
