What to with chickens when taking a vacation????

I've just moved to south Georgia and I was wondering what to do with my chickens when I have to go out of town? Any suggestions? I don't really know anyone yet to ask.

Maybe you could check with a local 4-H group to see if any of the older kids would be willing to learn how you care for your birds and they could take care of them when you have to leave? Or check with someone at your feed store to see if they know of anyone that can check on your flock. It's not easy to take off on vacations when you have farm animals, especially for extended periods of time.

! Great to have you aboard!! I agree with the above suggestions of CTKen and NFC. That's a downside to chickens....you really can't board them like a dog or cat. A reliable neighbor could possibly help out. Hope you find a solution. Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC!

I suggest getting a prescription from you Doc, for a therapy chicken..

Then you just take them with you..
