I'll start at the beginning.

Yesterday, we were gone from 11:30am-5:30 (cleaning out my grandma's house). When we left the chickens and ducks were safely in the coop. When we got home, the coop door was wide open and all of the chickens were out. I remember seeing my four ducks before I left again at 7:00. I was then gone until 11:00. One of my other family members took care of my chores while I was out but did not close the coop door. I got home and was really tired so I didn't close the door (it has been left open fine before). We left at 10:00am this morning and were gone until 8:00pm. I don't remember seeing my ducks while I was gone and I wasn't too concerned because I figured they were in the garden looking for snacks. Went outside to close the coop door and saw that my ducks were nowhere to be found. I took a flashlight and searched all in the woods but to no avail. Went back to the coop to check one more time and to my horror, looked behind the coop to see piles of feathers. Could not find any parts or bodies. What could have done this? I'm still not sure how the door got opened in the first place.

I feel really guilty because they could have been alive when I got home and if I had closed the door it would've been fine. I do know that ducks have no idea what bedtime means. They were all full grown and fully feathered. What would have taken four ducks and only left feathers? :hit
