I have a project bantam lavender ameraucana roo who has the single comb, not the pea comb. So as far as using him to continue the project, I'm just not sure. I got the pair because I thought they were just adorable chicks.
My flock is small and of many breeds. I have a sultan hen who laid a fertile egg...the dad is the ameraucana roo.
My question is, will this chick have his comb or the hen's v comb? And will the chick be lavender as well...how cool would a lavender sultan be?

Lavender is recessive, so the chick will be either white or black, depending on if the white in Sultans is recessive or dominant.

Single comb x V comb makes a single comb with a V-like base, usually turning into a leaf/buttercup type comb or just two different single combs joining into one just above the nose.

Hmmm...a double single comb? That would be soooooo weird and alien looking. Oh well, in about 3 weeks we will see what transpires.
