What turkey breeds are considered to be wild?

Back when I was still just lurking on the EZBYC site (2004 forerunner of current BYC iteration), I read a thread about someone who had purchased a dozen adult `wild' turkeys from a breeder. He brought them home and turned them out. He reported that they had hung around the house/barn for a couple of weeks and drifted off. Six months later he wondered why they weren't in the woods/fields (had found remains of a couple). Another member asked if he had provided feed or water for them. He replied `no, they were wild'. Another thread, in Emergencies, has stayed with me as well: `Help! I sat on my chicken, what should I do? A: Stand up and get off of your chicken, yes? Some things are very obvious to most, some aren't. Not looking to waste time stropping the razor to no useful end. Now, how domestication proceeds from F0: epigenetics is very interesting and the process of phenotypic plasticity is why I've an interest (imprinting, etc.). Most of the exacting work, currently, has been done with insects but should be of interest to anyone breeding vertebrates as well: http://www.eeb.cornell.edu/agrawal/...009-Ch_1-Phenotypic-Plasticity-of-Insects.pdf Some more Wild locals hanging out:
