I did an extensive search and didn't find the answer to my question so I am going to start a new thread and hope I didn't miss the answer already posted somewhere else.
I did find the info on barley and chickens...I am using a very small % of barley in my mix. It is about 7 percent, and they seem to be doing fine to this point.
I have been using food grade pearled barley to this point, and am looking at my options, economy wise. I can find an animal feed whole or rolled, and a "hulled barley" is also available (the hulled barley is food grade - not animal grade), If you were going to feed your chickens barley, which would you choose? And why?
My preference if it doesn't matter is the rolled barley, because I already have it for my goats. But everything else in their mix is whole, and I'm not sure if it makes a difference.
THANKS
