This bird has been hanging out near my house. Does anyone know what type of bird this is?

Yes, a coopers hawk. I rehabbed one a few years back. Beautiful birds.

Pretty, but keep chicks and hens penned with overhead cover. If chicks, then even consider blocking line of sight if pen small.

The girls run around outside with bird netting covering them where they are exposed. Hopefully that works. That hawk has been snooping. I can tell it is waiting for a mistake
