I just got 4 chicks from a friend who didn’t want them. He doesn’t remember what kind they are. Can someone help me figure it out? Would be super appreciated! Also any guesses on genders as well. I can take better pictures when I get them home and into the coop if needed. Thanks!

Are they supposed to be purebred? The two whites look like pullets, and may be Delaware. The dark ones are cockerel. They look mixed, or like game type birds but I'm not sure.

I am quite certain the two dark ones are cockerels, so far the white ones look to be pullets...I am not good at breeds though.

@Rhodebar Lover ?
@Frazzemrat1 ?

Here are a few more pictures of the babies. They are so sweet! They just want to cuddle. Nothing like the chickens I already have. 😂. Is it possible that the 2 cockerels will be able to continue living together as they grow older? Since they have been raised together?

Now I can see that the cockerel appear to be bantam games to me. Not positive though.

Some get along, and some fight. You shouldn't see any problems until next spring as far as fighting in my experiences.

Last night I let the babies and my other chickens (almost 4 months old) free range together while mostly trying to keep them separated. I had the little ones sleep in the run and the older in the coop, like normal. This morning I put the babies in a dog crate inside the coop so everyone can get to know each other a bit. Any idea how long it might take before I should allow them to all be around each other with no crate for protection? Sorry for so many questions on this post. I’ve only been a chicken mom since I got the older girls 4 months ago! 🐔
