Well, if you have that many laying and I don't have a Silkie rooster by then, we'll have to swap eggs! I have 2 Silkie chicks that are about 4 weeks old, so I don't know what they are yet either. I'm kind of hoping that one (not both!) is a rooster b/c my Silkie hen is a very good mommy. If not, I'll just have to get some of your eggs and let her sit on them!

I have EEs and I love them. Im really sad that people call them mutts. If so then every single chicken breed was a mutt when first developed, as they all came from crossing other breeds together. Mine are fabulous, the best of layers, and make the absolutely cutest chicks with their poofy faces. In fact, that is my criteria for breeding my EEs....poofy faces and gorgeous large blue eggs. Im always looking for eggs from that same kind of stock to add to my herd. They came from that kind of stock and are breeding true. So there! (Right Jody?)

I didn't mean to offend anyone...I say "mutts" with the utmost affection. I call all my dogs "my mutts," even though they're not, just as an endearing term. I think EEs are gorgeous birds also and I also love the poofy faces and will be raising more as soon as these girls get their act together and lay me some eggs! Sorry again if I offended anyone!

I love love love my EE's. I can't wait to hatch some babies; I got all of this stock from Jody...I sure wish she had some more, they were the most gorgeous big blue eggs you could ever find. I hope these girls and boy continue the tradition.

Very pretty! The red & black hen looks a lot like mine. The one I have with more black has really poofy cheeks like that...the pic on here doesn't show it very well though.
