What type of comb is this?

He is suppose to be half marans and half EE but I've never seen a comb like his before on either breed. I don't know if it matters, but he has a lot of marans features except his comb.

It’s a pea comb. A comb with genes for both a single and pea comb will usually look like a larger, floppier pea comb.
