I’m getting 3 modern game bantam pullets in March and I was wondering what type of feed to give them. They’re will have a seperate coop and run. They are not going to be shown if that is relavent. I just want them to maintain their modern game features. Thanks for any advice in advance.

As chickens, they need a balanced chicken feed. A starter (18-20% protein) to 6 or 8 weeks. A grower to 14 weeks and a finisher till they start to lay.
OR
A starter/grower till they start to lay or 20 weeks.

You heard wrong. About the only difference between layer and all other feeds is the higher calcium, the precise ratio of Ca to Phosphorus and slightly lower protein.
Nothing there to make them appear bulky.

If all birds in a flock are actively building egg shells, they'll benefit from a layer feed. If not all are laying, a grower or all-flock feed with oyster shell in a separate container is the way to go.
OS on the side is a good idea regardless once birds are mature.

Thank you for your reply. So since Modern Game Bantams aren’t amazing layers can I give them a mix of layer feed with all flock feed? And oyster shell of course.

Hello! I personally feed only a high quality, small pellet layer pellet to my birds! They get 1/3 a cup per bird each day. I do show my birds, so this feed helps them keep their features and looking nice! I also add in some oyster shells everyone and them, and then, cause they’re spoiled, some mealworms!
