This is a mixed breed chick, but I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what color and/or pattern this chick has. Also still VERY on the fence about gender. I'm really hoping pullet but, as you can see, we still don't have much of a tail at 7.5 weeks. We had some feather plucking going on, but I don't think that explains the lack of tail. Looks similar to silver duckwing, but the chest is very pale, not salmon. Quail pattern?

The father was an easter egger and I think the mom was a BSL hen.

When I saw the first picture I was WOW! I KNOW THAT BREED! But I can't place it right now. I think it might be a mix with a Manx Rumpies. The pattern I'm not sure...

Welcome to BYC!

I do think the chick has a tail, just hasn't come in much.

Here's an update on Smudge's development. She's 13 weeks old. She has a tail, but it's held very low and rounded down. I LOVE her pattern/coloration.

Kharmon320, did you get my post about pattern being silver penciled like my SP Plymouth Rock and the pic I posted. My chick had same feather pattern as yours when younger too. Will re post if you request .
