What type of snake is this?

I was cleaning waterers and I walked up to the coop door to find a snake. It was about 2.5-3 ft long but very skinny. It would not be able to take eggs. It scared me sooo bad! I poked it with a stick and it slithered away.

They must be huge when fully grown! This was a big snake! Especially for a juvenile.

Yes, I've seen two adults that were probably around four feet long.

Will it really? The egg would be about 20x his head size! That would be very impressive.

If it can't eat eggs now it will be able to eat eggs later! Snakes can open their mouths so wide. Please don't kill the snake, though.

I sure understand that I do not have one here in Mossyrock, Washington state either we only have plain old garter snakes
