Hi-
I have 4 chickens. 2 of them are darker and are a little golden- I think that they might be welsummers. I have 2 other chickens that are just plain yellow. Nothing special they are just yellow. They told me what kinds of chickens they were when I got them- I just forgot. PLEASE help me. I might want to start showing them and I NEED to know their breeds! Thnak you!! -Sasafrass Coco

Welcome to BYC! It's great to have you.

Agree, we need photos. I'll tentatively guess that the "plain yellow" ones MIGHT be Buff Orpingtons.

What kind of showing are you talking about? Small county fairs and the like will often accept just about anything, but if you are considering any sort of real poultry show, know that most birds will not even be eligable. Show quality birds are rare, maybe 1 out of every 1000 chickens you see might be from true, exhibition quality stock. Hatchery birds (anything you'd find at a feed store) are not bred to a show standard, and are in truth highly productive mutts.
