What up yall! I am a chicken enthusiasts thats really just getting started! . I adore the varieties of breeds such as the polish silvers, cochins, and silkies. I especially am enthralled by the kelso gamefowl, their stance is just too tough....love it! I have a beautiful girlfriend that has a "backyard" flock that is awesome and I want to start my own! So any tips, advice on good DIY pen building, winterizing, flock health and maintenance is and would be tremendously appreciated!

I would suggest you check out the "coops section for build ideas etc. Many sizes, styles, functions are included. You may also want to post on your state thread, so you can get realistic views on what breeds do best in your area, type of predators, coop/ run protection needed. Just put your state name in the search box and it should pop up.

Also the Learning center is the best place for info. on poultry.
