What varmint ate my hen?

What ever it was, it had to scale a 6 ft chain link fence and ate the whole hen except the bones, head, and innards. What varmint does this kind of behavior? We have coyotes, fox, coons, owls, hawks, and skunks . Haven't seen any possums but that doesn' mean they are not around.

Because you said it ate most of the hen and ate it inside the fence I am betting it was a raccoon. It will be back.

agreed. when I first started keeping hens a neighborhood raccoon ate three of ours. He found a hole in the fencing that couldn't have been more than six inches across and somehow managed to squeeze in and out with the chickens, whose carcasses were found in the yard/under the deck. They are terrible.

A few nights of bb gun/rock-throwing duty has seemed to scare them all off.

Coon is likely, I will be adding an electric wire to my fence today.
