Hey all, I'm new here. I have a hard time distinguishing some breeds. This was Duckers, my first baby that was given to me as an egg that I personally hatched and spoiled endlissly with worms and cuddles and in return she provided delicious eggs. She was bold and wouldn't shy away from pulling on your clothing for a treat. Most of the time she was outside with me or hung out with Freedom (Americana or aurcana? The black with gold speckles)hen, Fluffball (barred cochin) hen, and was the top of the pecking order until we got a Maran Roo that we named Pancake who was already almost a year old and favored her the most, then mourned for a while until something chased him down our hill and got him also.
The guy who gave me Duckers in the egg was trying to get rid of his extra chickens before moving away (he said they were show chickens but i have my suspicions he was selling fighting roos because he favored the males, but anyways i had no proof and thankfully he is gone now. However he said rhode island red but i dont think she is. Thanks for any input!
