A peach off my tree.
I had gotten lazy & didn't thin the fruit when it first set, so I ended up with zillions of apricot-sized peaches.
They were hanging in clusters like grapes!!!
I finally beat off about 2 bushels worth a couple weeks ago and the survivors are reaching a good size and ripening on the tree.
Is there anything better than a sun-warmed peach, perfectly ripe, picked & eaten while you stand under the tree?
If there is I haven't found it yet...
Tonight I have plans to turn a shopping bag full of them into peach butter in my crockpot - thanks to Betty R's recipe for apple butter
