I have a 34 week old Ancona. She has looked ready for a month, but still no eggs.

So I was wondering if she holds the record for waiting to lay her 1st egg.

Aw, I'm sorry your still waiting...

As you probably know, mine layed at 33 weeks.

We waited over 9 months for BBS Orpington to lay this past year. Actually they didn't lay until this year. One of them is a dud, she's either still not laying or only lays the oddball speckled egg that shows up once or twice a week. Minnie will be stew.

I waited almost 11 months for my LF Cochin girls to start laying. Some of them didn't follow until a few weeks after the first started. They took FOREVER!

Thanks everyone - I just think it's a shame that our 25 week old silkie has already begun to lay and AC, now almost 35 weeks old, hasn't. So frustrating!

C is still going for the "longest wait to lay her eggs" award. She has her acceptance speech written and gown picked out. :/
