It was so hot this summer that some days the heat was actually painful on my skin in the sunlight; older people without A/C have to get in a bathtub of cool water sometimes to keep from overheating. It's a good tip because sometimes getting naked just doesn't cut it...

That conjures up a slightly troubling image, noodleroo. Shakespeare once pointed out that we end up the way we started - 'Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything'. For those who don't remember all of Jaques amusing but accurate lines for 'As You Like It', look here:

So, us old wrinklies should not be left alone in a cold bath just as we wouldn't leave babies.

On the other hand, perhaps we have a germ of an idea for a new and lucrative 'green' industry. We've been sold a pup by the establishment ecologists who want to con us into accepted pointless new 'green' technology but why not take advantage of it for ourselves? Just think of the enormous energy savings that could be made if no home, hospital, office, factory or shopping mall needed air conditioning. If someone came up with an energy efficient alternative to a/c he or she would be wealthier than Carlos Slim Helu in no time. It's simple! Just equip all of those places with dip pools full of disinfected water so that anyone feeling a tad hot can strip off and jump in for a few minutes. There might even be big ones in which you could hold an entire committee meeting. Restaurants could have 'wet' seating. Parliament and Senate buildings around the world could have tubs big enough for all of the politicians and a device that enabled voters outside to adjust the water level. The possibilities are endless.

Oh it was warm today! It got up to 22

I even had to turn down the heat in the coops because it was to warm in there. I don't want the girls getting to used to the heat!

About 72, but I know what squeaky snow sounds like, and what sleet and ice feel like. In the summer I wish I lived up north again. In the winter it's lovely here. I guess the solution is to get rich and move every 6 months.
