I agree with PC...I bought some heavy breed cockerels to fatten up and butcher, but sheesh that has taken forever, even with added protein...
So this spring, I am going to happily buy 100 Colored Free Rangers from JM Hatchery http://www.jmhatchery.com/free-range-broiler/colored-range-chicks/prod_5.html
Like PC said, they are like real chickens... In my mind I see them as not genetically engineered to be huge and gross, but they will grow faster than typical heavy breed birds, so feed ratio will be more in line.
