My Cayuga duck eggs are on day 13 in the incubator, so I'm getting the brooder ready. My question is what watt lamp does everyone use?

Quote:Everybody does NOT use the same wattage, It depends on the number of ducks and the temperature of the area where the brooder is set up. Cold Barn or garage vs a heated house. you want to start with 90F at the surface diredtly under the bulb. you want it high enough so your ducklings can not touch the bulb and it should not be over the water. I use 2 60w or 75watt bulbs incase one bulb burns out at night. Hope thus was some help.
