What went wrong?

only 10 out 24 of my muscovy eggs hatched. then my dog got into my brooder and killed two, so that leaves me with 8. I dont know what i did wrong. i have 13 more due to hatch in a few weeks. hope for better results.

Did you open the unhatched eggs to see how developed they were? That can tell you whether things went wrong at the end, or earlier on.

They were not shipped eggs. I bought them from someone. The ones that did hatch I thought hatched like a week early. The ones in the incubator are dark inside. I just left them in the incubator to see if maybe they will hatch.

It's possible that the eggs that hatched had been under a broody duck a week before the seller found them. Just keep and eye/nose on the remainders
