What were my 3 male ducks doing last night! ?!

I have a male mallard and 2 male pekins. Well last night then were doing something very very strange. They would Curl their necks down and let out this weird noise, it sounded very quit, it sounded like a sqreaking noise. Anybody know why there doing that latley? btw the ages of my male ducks are, Mallards:22 weeks Pekins:19 weeks

Was it almost like a quiet trumpet noise? I weird honking thing? The males do that to show off
