My boy is a rhode island red, my girls are .white leghorns, black sexlinks, red sexlinks? What can I expected to get from these (i have 14 eggs in bator) will they be brown laywrs, or off white for leghorn mix?anyone have any of these mixes in your flocks? Pictures please!! Tia

The red sex links will throw red chicks. The black sex links could throw black or red chicks but not necessarily solid colored birds. The white Leghorns will throw red females (sex linked) and whitish males.

Thank you.wasnt sure what to expect. I didn't know that my leghorns would throw sex links.thats exicting!! I thought i had to have a white plymoth rock. Thanks so much rainbow rooster :)

Mixed breeds are commonly unpredictable in their looks. I would recommend going on google images and looking up what each cross breed could look like. On egg colors, they will vary. Most likely, some of the crosses will lay brown and some white, or even in between. When we cross Ameraucanas with other breeds, we will get some that lay green eggs, some laying cream, and other will lay brown. Hope this helps!

I have to respectfully disagree, but the White Leghorns will not produce sex linked offspring as White Leghorns lack the silver gene necessary to produce Red Sex Links. Red Sex Links require a silver gene hen such as a Rhode Island White, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Delaware, Light Sussex, or some White Rocks (not all WRs have the silver gene required for producing RSLs).

Additionally, white birds like Leghorns are not as good a choice because there are often other colors hiding beneath the apparently dominant white color.
