This is mostly for my own fun, but: I've got a sapphire rooster-- some manner of mix, though I don't know the specifics. He's got a rose comb, fwiw, which I know ties to the blue egg gene in some manner. I'll have to give him up eventually, since we're not allowed roosters, but I'm setting the fertile eggs from him and my purebred Isbar (green layer).

Anyone had this sort of cross before? Any guesses on what color eggs the offspring might lay? I see lots of info on olive egger colors but not so much on a purebred green layer!

What?
Someone explain this!!! If my roo has a rose comb this could be super important!

Not a clue. He's got feathered legs, which is not typical of Sapphires. Without knowing exactly what went into him, there is no way to really predict what he will produce.

Thanks! I’ll ask the breeder.
