Great pics, yeah looks much more evident to me, would say swan goose mix for sure. And based on the mottled beak as well since the Steinbacher only has blue/black markings at the tips of the beak.

Oh, interesting! I never thought about her mottled bill being a sign of cross breeding, lol. I just remember it started off dark when she was little and got lighter over the weeks/months.


Another general question I've been wondering, what does this gosling think I am to her? She has her mom and dad, but I was around within the first 1-6 hours of her hatching (sometime between 12:30-6:30 a.m., not sure when, lol). So she knows she's a goose and imprinted on them but still seems to like me quite a bit. She gets excited when she sees me and heads toward me. She knows I bring the duck feed, too, haha. So I'm hoping she thinks "Grandma," lol.

Just as an update, this is what the baby is looking like at 5 weeks old! Really beautiful light gray feathers, the pattern looking a lot like her mom's but lighter from her dad's white, lol. She's a super big cuddler, loves sleeping on my lap (and shoulder but is getting too big now, haha).

Just wanted to update more since he kept getting bigger! (And his coloring changed with more feathers!) He's just so much bigger than both of his parents, lol. This is from a few days ago, and he's 6 months old now!
