I have been dealing with pasty butt. Since I brought my chickens home. I have read that age and ACV helps the issue. I have used ACV and now my chicks are 2 and 3 week old. So the pasty butt has stopped thank goodness.
My question is this. I have Save a chick probotics and electrolytes for them. I plan on giving them. Mainly when I move them to the coop out of the brooder. Are there any precautions. When using a metal water drinker like there is for ACV.
i'M sure the ACV flavored there water. They are probably use to the taste. Can chickens taste the diffrence from ACV to plain water. Just wondering?

I have always heard to offer plain water and probiotic water so that if they happen to strongly dislike the water, they have another option.

I don't give electrolytes unless it's very hot or I have a chicken who's undergoing a great deal of stress. The added salts just aren't necessary.

I recommend just sticking with the ACV and reserving the Save-a-Chick for emergencies.

If you want to maximize the nutrients your chickens get, try fermenting your feed. Chickens love it, and it has natural probiotics, saving you money since you don't need to buy them. If you feed FF, you can also dispense with the ACV and just provide clean, clear water.
