What would a cross between an ameraucana and a production red create?

I have an ameraucana (probably EE) hen from ideal hatchery. What would the chicks look like if she was bred with a production red rooster? (possibly barn yard mix)

you will get nice productive birds, watch out for hens with pea comb they have 95% chance of laying nice green eggs... if they have single combs then they have 95% chance of laying brown eggs... but both type of hens will be productive, they will all black mostly as columbian(your rooster carry columbian) does not have any effect on Extended black(your hen is extended black)

WOW! Thank you! I would love some to come out with pea combs! Could you go into a bit more detail if you have time? How do you know they'll be productive? What is columbian, and extended black? I've always wondered what my rooster was. Is there anything specific that you could say about the cross between this rooster and the other EE I posted a pic of?

As far as the single combs laying brown eggs, I can definitely confirm that. I have a hen that looks EE but has a single comb. She lays a light brown (kinda pinkish) egg. Still waiting on this black hen to lay!

hatchery birds are always productive(makes them money) thats why! even the not so productive birds tend to be more productive when they come from hatcheries(compared to showing stock)

Columbian pattern is when a bird is mostly red with a black tail(or white if based on silver, there is only two colors on chickens, red and white and everything in the middle with diluters and enhancers playing a tug of war)

most self black birds(like your hens) are based on Extended black(most powerful E locus) while is not impossible to have a self black bird with other e alleles, but it takes lots of other genes to make them all black(melanizers)

all of the chicks will be all black at hatch, keep the pea comb ones if you want green eggs, you can use the hens from this mating and cross it back to the that production red rooster to produce even more productive green eggers, if you keep doing this(using other production red rooster after two more generation) you will end up with a strain of very productive green eggers, even maybe olive green eggers(some production reds can give very dark brown eggs)

Thank you again! This is just what I was hoping to find out. Can't say that I want a whole batch of black chicks though. I need some variety in there. She's a good hen though.

I crossed an Easter Egger roo and a Production Red hen and this is what I got.

This is the Easter Egger daddy, Buddha.

This is the Production Red mom, Ivy.

This is the baby. She has production red coloring with muffs, a beard, peacomb, and green legs. She lays green eggs with a bit of an olive hue to them.
